The western stream is flowing from the old broken pipe
just in front of the digger track. The far trench side is tight against
the base of the wall. The subsoil layers are a bit on the soft side and
are shored up to avoid risk of collapse. 11/2/06 |

Another 6m length of 600ml twin-wall pipe is lowered into
position. Good progress today - two lengths are excavated and laid. 13/2/06 |

The pipe has to be carefully embedded in concrete to stop
it 'floating' The two men standing on the far end are weighting it down
and positioning it while the concrete is filled. 13/2/06 |

Outside 5 St Andrew's Cottages they're soon going to need
a bridge. The main sewer can be seen running alongside the twin-wall. The
infill used for the original sewer trench is collapsing into the new
trench and so the side around and above the sewer is being packed with
concrete for strength and support. 14/2/06 |
