Work commenced on the second part of the Harberton flood relief scheme on Tuesday 3rd January 2006.
The first task was to deepen the stream at the outflow
from the new culvert. 5/1/06 |

On the right the outflow from the original stream which
flows under the middle of The Old Forge (and will continue to do so), on the left the digger at work,
sitting on a metal temporary roadway. 5/1/06 |

The trench for the new culvert, with the old stream coming
in from the right. The excavations have to avoid various existing service
pipes. 5/1/06 |

The new culvert in this section of the work is to be built
on a concrete base, but that 'soil' pipe is in the way and will have to be
replaced. 6/1/06 |
